IRS Scam

http://www.cnn.com/2015/03/13/us/irs-scam/

Hi everyone, i read this article on IRS scam. please we should be very careful so as not to be a victim. They are very convincing when they call. They have a Washington phone number and can cite your financial history down to the cent. They say you're under investigation, in danger of losing your home, or worse, your freedom -- unless you pay thousands of dollars on the spot. But they're not real. And you're not in trouble. Not unless you take it seriously. This is a scam. CNN Investigations Email your story ideas and tips to CNNtips@cnn.com. A big one. Federal authorities say it's the largest IRS impersonation scam they've ever seen -- swindling victims out of more than $15 million since it began in 2013."They have information that only the Internal Revenue Service would know about you," said Timothy Camus, deputy inspector general for investigations with the Treasury Department. "It's a byproduct of today's society. There's so much information available on individuals."Using identity theft technology, the thieves have successfully victimized more than 3,000 people in the past two years, although the Treasury Department cautions that number is only documented cases and the true number might be higher.

  3. I was perplexed reviewing this information about the fake IRS agents; it is also boomer for a lot of the decent people who really work hard for their money. We never think somebody could rip off people using the parody of government agents. We should know more about it and pass the voice to people in case they get contacted. Another personal point of view is that the government of U.S. is not going to catch this skunks or what are they doing about it? It is unconscionable to see how much victims of the same criminals got rip off with this fraud. What is gonna happened with the money of this people. Finally perspective is how do they got so much personal information about bank accounts, cell phones and names. It is something fishy in the a corner of the real IRS agents? thank so much for this post.

  4. This is so interesting and everybody should know about it. Scam people are everywhere. they use all sources possible to get victims. We should all be very careful when answering calls to unknown and private number. Most immigrants in this country are students and hard workers. for the 1st time I'd received that call, I was at work and I couldn't leave to go to nearest CVS to buy the card and loaded the card with $250 after giving them all my information eventhough they had it plus my debit card number, so we postponed the continuity for the following day.tree days later, they called me when I was hospitalized with one of my daughter and I told them my situation and asked them to deduct $255 from the amount they wanted to give to me for my study and give me the rest through a check, card or money order. The guy was mad at me because I told him on the first day that I was going to do transaction and give him a call the next day, and he said that I was no longer qualified to receive the grant and hand up on me. My advice is that in America, there is nothing for free. never be excited when people tell you that you are qualify for what ever name they will come out with to count amount their victims.
